Lot 1325 VERY CLEAN TNW M2HB "MA DEUCE" 50 CALIBER SEMI-

AUTOMATIC RIFLE WITH TRIPOD AND ACCESSORIES. Cal. 50 BMG. S# 000313. Bbl. 45". The Browning M2HB, affectionately referred to in military circles as "Ma Deuce" is another evolution of the successful John Browning designed, recoil operated & belt fed guns that populated the battlefields during WWI. In an effort to build a gun that was comparable to the French 11mm Hotchkiss, w/ a primary purpose of defeating observation balloons & aircraft, the .50 BMG was designed and introduced for the M1921A1, which was quickly modified & reintroduced as the M2. Barrel heating issues would lead to the heavy barrel version that we now know as the M2HB. This example was manufactured by TNW and redesigned as a closed bolt, semiautomatic version. Outwardly it looks the same as the fully automatic original. Uniform parkerized finish. Hooded front sight w/ coinciding rear ladder sight adjustable to 2400 meters. Black, plastic grips & charging handle. Carry handle eon barrel. Pintle mounted on receiver. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: M3 Tripod, spare barrel, linking machine, 5 pounds of links & cover. CONDITION: Finish on exposed metal surfaces complete & consistent. All aspects indicate a very well cared for firearm. Markings on right sideplate are clear & crisp. Bore is bright w/ sharp rifling w/ a tiny bit of pitting near muzzle. Second barrel retains a bright bore w/ strong rifling. (26-2136/JZ). MODERN. $12,000-16,000.
